Prayer Points

Prayer Point
Pray for God's blessing and deepening spiritual growth through this year.
Pray for those suffering or grieving in hospital/at home and those who care for them.
Please use your prayer diaries (available in the church vestibules) to pray for our young people as they serve in various places over the summer period.
SOUTH SUDAN: Monday 9 July was the seventh anniversary of South Sudan gaining independence from Sudan but sadly conflict and suffering continue in the world’s youngest country. Peace talks have been taking place in recent weeks but there is yet to be agreement between all sides. Pray for an immediate end to violence and pray for the peace talks to continue and for all sides to seek peace and compromise. Pray for those suffering displacement from their homes and who are in need of humanitarian relief, especially those facing food shortages. Give thanks for the aid agencies working in South Sudan and neighbouring countries for the displaced and the refugee. Remember especially the work of the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan’s Relief and Development Agency seeking to help those in need.
MALAWI: Lyn Dowds spends more and more of her time at the David Gordon Memorial Hospital in meetings and administration but her calling and her love is still for the patients. Pray for her as she continues to serve at the hospital and give thanks for the dedication of the staff at the hospital and clinics who are tired from over-work. Give thanks for the new ambulance which ensures a quicker transfer time from clinic to hospital.
