Whether we win or lose our aim is simply to play bowls and enjoy the company.
We either host games or visit the other clubs who are associated with the different denomination churches or local community groups throughout the Coleraine, Portrush and Portstewart areas.
We need at least 16 team players each week to represent Terrace Row to compete in both league and cup games. We certainly do have players of all abilities and we continue to improve. We are always on the look- out for new players and we certainly need younger players to come along and try this game. To the uninitiated the game may look easy but the skills required are certainly not apparent until you throw your very first bowl.
We play in the Wylie Hall normally every Tuesday & Wednesday evening from 7.30 onwards and our season begins in September and ends in March.
This season past is first time in 15 years that Terrace Row Bowling Club won a trophy. We are now the proud holders of the Division 2 title and with promotion will now compete against Division 1 teams during the forthcoming 2016-2017 season. We had some memorable team performances throughout last season.
Although it is very much a team game our best player award was won this year by Brian Lockhart, the Most Improved Player award went to William Millar, and the David Kyle Memorial trophy for true consistency was presented this year to John Boggs. The photos attached show some of the players with their trophies including insets for the late Essie Jack and Jack Caldwell who both played a considerable part in the Club’s achievements.
